Ustream.TV is the live interactive video broadcast platform that enables anyone with a camera and an Internet connection to quickly and easily broadcast to a global audience of unlimited size. In less than two minutes, anyone can become a broadcaster by creating their own channel on Ustream or by broadcasting through their own site, empowering them to engage with their audience and further build their brand. Click here to start a broadcast now or learn more about broadcasting.

A great way to see the many uses of this wonderful free service (YES its free), just go over to their site and check it out. Here is a link to my channel http://www.ustream.tv/channel/al-altan When you get there be sure sign up for an account. Then follow me so that you are messaged when I am live with my show.

Here is a tip for you that are really interested in making this a little cooler…you can get a domain name from godaddy.com and then have that domain forward you in a masked way to your channel. This way when you are telling people about your TV station you can just give them your domain name, which should be catchy and preferably the name of your channel. For me I have chosen altan.tv click on it and you’ll see what I mean.

There are many uses for this service. If you have a pet store you could have a webcam on the birds or the puppies, if you have a hair salon you could have it pointed at one of your chairs, the options are endless. Just make sure that if you are using other people in your video that they know they are on camera. Now get out there and create your channel and get started with your own TV station today!

Twitter

I am on twitter of course! So if you are a fellow twitt feel free to add me. This is where I share the latest news here first.

If you are not on twitter let me give you a few reasons why you should be. Here is what twitter.com says they are…

“Twitter is a real-time information network powered by people all around the world that lets you share and discover what’s happening now.

Twitter asks “what’s happening” and makes the answer spread across the globe to millions, immediately.

What Twitter Does?

Whether it’s breaking news, a local traffic jam, a deal at your favorite shop or a funny pick-me-up from a friend, Twitter keeps you informed with what matters most to you today and helps you discover what might matter to you most tomorrow.

The timely bits of information that spread through Twitter can help you make better choices and decisions and, should you so desire, creates a platform for you to influence what’s being talked about around the world. Search results spread across Twitter and in other ways across the Web so you can discover what’s happening on and off of Twitter.com, wherever you prefer.

Twitter can give a voice to even the weakest signals because of its simplicity. Users can access Twitter on powerful broadband connections via a video game console or through faint connections in rural areas via SMS on a simple mobile phone. You can also access Twitter through more than 50,000 third-party Internet and mobile applications.

Just remember, how you use Twitter is completely up to you. Follow hundreds of people. Follow a dozen. Post every hour. Post never. Search for your favorite topics and create lists. Or not. You are in control on Twitter.”

IF you use twitter properly you can be up to date on the latest on what I do and what your other friends and family are doing. Think of it as a faster version of Facebook or Myspace. The secret is you only add people that you are interested in hearing from, that way you are not bombarded with too many messages and the messages you are getting are from people you care about.
